How to Put a Harness and Leash on a Cat (Harley the Cat How-To Tutorial with Steve Drury)
In this How-To instructional pet tutorial video, Steve Drury Sr. explains how to properly attach a leash and harness on our cat. Of course Harley Jr. is the most gentle of our 3 cats, so it was logical that she was recruited for the task. Precautions should be taken for more aggressive cats. We do not recommend using a breakaway harness outdoors with your cat. Your first attempts at leash training your cat should be a quiet area such as your fenced-in yard at home. Avoid having any other hyperactive pets in the yard that might cause disruption in the training session. Always use positive reward and encouragement. Never use punishment on your cat as he or she is learning something new and does not quite understand the process yet. Patience is a virtue when it comes to cats and you will be rewarded when both you and your kitty master the art of leash walking.
